Dr. Holt is a board-certified emergency physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He treats a wide range of acute conditions or injuries in an emergency room.

Founded as a mission by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, St. Joseph’s Hospital has served the health care needs of Tampa since 1934. Academically, he graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993. He then went on to perform his residency at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

With over three decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). The AOBEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues (emergency physicians).

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Holt is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Physician Advisors Inc., the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention.
